American Outdoor Products is a Boulder-based food company that has been making freeze-dried food for decades. Our brands — Backpacker’s Pantry, Astronaut Ice Cream, and Colorado Spice — show up in backpacks, camp kitchens, lunchboxes and pantries around the country. We’re family-owned, we manufacture real products, and we care deeply about doing the work well.

We care about what we build and how we build it. We make real food in our Boulder facility, and we don’t pretend it’s always easy. There are constraints. There are tradeoffs. There’s a lot of figuring things out. That’s part of the work and part of the satisfaction.
